SLING CHAINS, STEEL CHAINS AND STAINLESS STEEL CHAINS

In the production of sling chains, machines are used to form chain links from high-strength steel wire, weld them and thus connect them inseparably. The sling chains from Tecklenborg, Kegel are subject to special quality requirements and, after heat treatment and stretching, undergo batch tensile and bending tests. These chains comply with the DIN EN 818-2 standard, e.g. in grade 8, and are used in lifting technology in industry and also in construction. Tested sling chains from Tecklenborg, Kegel can be clearly identified by the meter-by-meter stamping.

An important characteristic is the so-called chain pitch or the so-called inner length of a sling chain link. Chains whose pitch is equal to three times the chain link diameter and whose strength meets certain grades may be used for lifting loads and, for example, processed into chain slings as 1-leg, 2-leg, or 3- and 4-leg chains.
